The Linchpin - அச்சாணி

சுழன்றும்ஏர்ப் பின்னது உலகம் அதனால்

உழந்தும் உழவே தலை. 1031 - உலகம் பல தொழில் செய்து சுழன்றாலும் ஏர்த் தொழிலின் பின் நிற்கின்றது, அதனால் எவ்வளவு துன்புற்றாலும் உழவுத் தொழிலே சிறந்தது.

பொருளல்ல வற்றைப் பொருளென்று உணரும் 
மருளானாம் மாணாப் பிறப்பு. 351 –  பொய்யான ஒரு பொருளை மெய்ப்பொருள் என்று மயங்கி நம்புகிறவனின் வாழ்க்கை சிறப்பாக அமையாது.

இந்த பொய்யாமொழி புலவனின் வாக்கு இக்கால மக்களுக்கு ஒரு பொய்யாகவே போய்விடும் போல தெரிகிறது!!! ஒரு நாட்டின் பழமையில் தான் அந்நாட்டின் வழமை இருக்கிறது என்பதை ஏனோ மறந்தோம்/ மறக்கடிக்கப்பட்டோம் - நாகரீகம் என்ற பெயர்ப்போர்வையில்!!! ஆனால் உழவு மற்றும் நமது பண்டைய பழக்கவழக்கங்கள் ஒட்டிய வாழ்வே நிலையானது என்பதை உணர்வோம், குறைந்தது உணர முயற்சிப்போம். 

குடும்பம், சமூகம், நாடு, அமைப்பு இவ்வாறு எதை எடுத்துக்கொண்டாலும் தலைவன் என்ற அச்சாணி அவசியம். சரியான வழிகாட்டி நடத்திச்செல்லும் அச்சாணி போன்றவன் இல்லையென்றால் அந்த அமைப்பு சரிவர இயங்காது என்பதை இப்பழமொழி விளக்குகிறது.

குடும்பத்தை சார்ந்தே சமூகமும் நாடும். இவை அனைத்தும் சிறந்தோங்க வைப்பவை அவற்றின் பழக்கவழக்கங்கள். அவற்றை மாற்றினால் நாடும் வீடும் மாற்றம் கண்டுவிடும். எனவே நமது பண்டைய பழக்கவழக்கங்களே ஒரு நாட்டின் அச்சாணியாக அமைந்துள்ளதை உணருதல் அவசியமாகிறது.

The words of Poyyamozhi Pulavar-The Thiruvalluvar are now almost become untruth in people mind. Ancient practises are like gold and the wealth of a country lies in it. But we already forgot and still ignoring our ancient practises and farming in the name of modernisation. But one should realise that farming and the life based on our ancient practises alone will savour us from the evil so called modernisation. Current science played a part in it and the research should be carried out to find out our lost practises for the betterment of our future generation.

Explanation of this proverb: Family, Society, Country and their set-up, all these need a strong leader for their proper functioning. The country and society are based on a family, the practices followed by them will distinguish from others and gives them an identity. Change those practices in those practices will lead to collapse in their system and thereby losing their identity. Therefore, those particular practices are the axis/linchpin for a country.
